Not much spare time today due to Daddy duties...... mind you I don’t mind playing play dough, guess who and minecraft :smiling5:

I haven’t taken much notice of the assembly order the instructions indicate.....and I’ve bounced ahead to turret construction.

The etch set has some replacements for the turret hatch hinges. In all honesty the kit ones looked good but I failed to find any actual pictures to compare either with!






The etched ones even have weld detail....not seen that before!





It took another attempt to straighten them up and re-glue....these PE hinges are workable too!





Then added the cover plate over the mantlet...


Hoping to get a bit more done on this tonight, fingers crossed.

Voyager's destructions may not be clear, but the detail on the etch is killer. Goes right along with the Manga faces they print on them too. I don't get the connection at all.

Keep going Si, this will be sweet with all the details!!!

Made some progress over the last few days. The turret had it grab rails fitted...


Need to clean up the glue and might have a go at making weld runs with putty :thinking:



Been busy chopping bits off!! So I cut out the two louvre pieces on the rear deck...



The etch replacements are easy to piece together, they are thinner and can be angled....









And just for good measure I cut out the engine deck hatch for reasons that may become clear later ....

I think that's a bit late.... Perhaps we can use a code phrase instead so he doesn't realise we're talking about them e.g "overrated box on tracks"....

Actually Bob I wrote like them. I have 5 in total, so they can't be that bad. Either that or your efforts to brainwash me have succeeded. Anyway I think we've diverted enough away from Si's build so should shut this down now.
