Thanks very much gents :smiling4:

The T34 has slowly been chugging onward , slowed by the need to remove and re-do the ice cleats and straps.
So there is the front fenders to fit and a few bits here and there. But really not far from paint :smiling4:

Thanks kindly for looking in gents :smiling4:

Finally got time to get some primer and a base coat of Ruski-greenski on the T34.
Cracked open a fresh jar of Mr Primer surfacer and had a squirt....

Then out with the Mig 4BO modulation set. Base colour first...

Will let that cure for a bit then a squirt of the next colour.

Thanks for looking in chaps :thumb2:
Been busy with a chinook and attempting some daringly high, high lights with this.....:surprised:
first light colour.....

Then additional highlights....

Also cut a stencil for the turret number to add.

So yes it’s a bit psychedelic but if I get it right it’ll all tone done as I go through the weathering stages.

Thanks for looking

Hi Si
I like the look of the paint job. I think if you are going for colour variation you hve to go a bit harsh at first. If you make it subtle to start with the weathering will all but obliterate it. The other thing is to ensure that the highlights are in the right places. You seem to have it spot on. Look forward to how it turns out.
Jim

Si.
Love the way you do these, fitting the tracks and then being able to remove them, I could never achieve that.:fearful:

Highlight look good, bring on the weathering.:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

I can see the "DOGS " award being awarded here.

Jim, John and Scottie..... thanks for looking in. Glad you like it so far :smiling4:

Great work Si ,I presume the primer was mr color stuff what number was it ,I think the highest is 1500 higher the number the finer the pigment ,used with mr colour se lf leveling thinner it lays on just so easy and smooth ain't the word, are you going to gloss coat before weathering I can never make up my mind some times I do(kleer) others I don't always think it looks more organic without like how it should be ,looking forward to your next move. Dave

Cheers Dave, glad you like :smiling4:
This is the primer stuff....

Which I combined with self leveling thinner....it don’t half pong but you can’t go wrong :smiling5:

Once the stencils are done, I’ll chuck a coat of Tamiya semi gloss on it before weathering with enamels.
I’ve had enamel thinner attack the paint before but a coat of varnish seems to stop that.

Outstanding work on the base coats Comrade. Looking forward to seeing the stencil and weathering work

Cheers Steve, your wish is my command :smiling5:

Stencil went on nicely I’m happy to say and then it got a filter or two.

The oils dried nicely and it then got a grimy pin wash.
I had more pictures but they seem to have disappeared :thinking:55FDCC38-45A2-4B35-B81C-87FFD0238458.jpeg

Hi Si
I'm liking what I see. No. 23 has come out well. The oil work is a treat to see.
