Well then lest make a little word list and a few explanatory words-
GB = Group Build. Originally started by a member where as we all built our version of the same subject. The first of which saw us all building Fw 190 of some form or the other.
Due to popular demand, these slowly became less and less a single subject and more a loose idea from which a multitude of things could and where being built
This gave rise to:
TB = Themed Build: A group build which had a looser frame, A build inspired by an event, for example. or a particular unit or squadron.
Both of these; the GB and TB last three months. The reason we have both is an attempt to try get the ordinary GB back on a more singular subject (at which I failed big time)and have the Themed builds as a more open alternative to those that "Don't do" the other subject.
Some people still seam to think that they have to take part in them all. OK the more the merrier but you should not feel obliged to take part. Unless that is you are the
That came up with the idea in the first place.
SIG At some point in time the SIG were introduced. On other, less worthy fora, this would be Single or Special Interest Group. On here though the idea was to give the build Special interest, regardless of the subject. That is to say gave it more attention to detail, Use of after-market parts. paint and weathering all getting the special touch to make the finished build as Special as you can. Normally these builds last six months.
SSIG Or a Super SIG was concocted by yours truly. Due to 2014 being a year of anniversaries, I thought it would be a good idea to have some SIG builds that lasted the whole Year to give people time to do something really spectacular. It is not a thing that will be repeated. If a subject craves more time it can be given before the start date so we
all know how long we have before the start date
Yes, presented like that it does seam a lot, but as said, it is up to you to choose to join in or not. Its just nice if you do.
I hope that this explains things.
