Steve / Jim and anyone else that has been following along - I think it is now finished :thumb2:

If weather ok tomorrow I shall try and get some piccies outside

The rubber water is rather good apart from the creep - I shall probably drop PI&S an email and see if they have a way of minimising that

Morning all, it is just starting to rain but I managed to get outside and quickly snap a few pics before it got too bad

Overall I am fairly happy with it.

The rifles and horse vanishing in the mud was a bit annoying and something to watch for in future as was the water creep

This must be the largest base I have ever done at 12x10" - normally they are kept small so they fit on the shelf !

Hi Simon
Very nice indeed. Not easy to model mud. Desert is easier I find.
Rather appropriate to finish it today.
Let us know what precision ice and snow say about the water creep. I have contacted them once and they were really helpful. Whatever the water filled shell craters are very effective.
Jim

Hi Simon, this is a great scene mate. It really takes you to the muddy battlefields of WWI. Great result and one to be proud of!

Cheers

Great to see this build finished. I have enjoyed watching it all come together. After all the WWI stuff I watched this weekend I can safely say this is a very realistic dio. Well done sir

Jim / Scottie / Wouter / Steven / Steve - thank you all very much

Jim - had a reply from PI&S about the water. Basically it is too water like! Capillary action has drawn the fluid into the various crooks and nannies of the base. They suggest sealing the base with matt varnish prior to pouring the water as a possible means of minimising the creep.
