Hello

I'm stuck! I have reached the stage of adding parts 13, 13, 11 and 12, as shown on picture 3. How do I set the angles correctly and get the parts to dry, before Imove on to step 4 please?

Hi Aidan parts 13 could be held in place by putting a thin bit of tape over the bar on the bottom untill dry 11 and 12 should just sit in the locating holes just keep an eye on them so they dont start to wilt. OR you could use CA glue/superglue you can hold them in place untill dry shouldn't take long hope this helps

WhAt I'm trying to say is, how do I determine the angles of parts 13 please ?

You might find Parts 13 fit flush into the lower wings. Don't glue anything, use a small piece of tape to hold them in place and dry fit the upper wing - again, no glue, just have a look how it all lines up. Lots of trial fitting is the answer here.

I had a similar issue with my Spad XIII WIP. I ended up cutting away the the bars holding the pairs of struts together and filling out the grooves in the wings where the bars were supposed to be glued in.

In stead I drilled small holes, with a pin-vice, in the ends of all the struts and corresponding holes in the wings. This way I could plug in small pieces of thin copper-wire in the struts, mount them on to the lower wing in the drilled holes. The upper wing could then be attached one strut at the time, allowing me to adjust alignment afterwards. I haven't glued the upper wing yet but will do once the rigging is in place.

It's a bit of chore but it also made a huge aesthetic improvement, so all in all I'm glad I did it.
