Spaceship for Sci-Fi novel

My son did his work experience on 'The Force Awakens ' for which my brother made the C3PO suit ( I am in total AWE), and he has a post card of C3PO signed by Anthony Daniels that says
"Thanks for polishing my greeblies"
I don't think he values it as much as I do!

Chris, I don't completely understand what you are asking me to do with the pictures. I have a laptop too and I have no issue seeing them. If I upload them one by one, would that help you?
So far, the selected pieces are not permanently attached but with some tape, just to create a general shape for the spaceship that pleases me. Later, I will work on each piece. Finally, when all the pieces are ok, I will attach them together permanently.
Something like a Star Trek spaceship, yes. It will be a civilian/scientific spaceship, no military at all. And, yes, the spaceship is part of a novel I will be writing after I finish the one I am working on.

Chris, you can understand the process better if you watch this video. Plus, this guy thinks like me when it comes to finding the right proportions before beginning the construction.
I hope you can see the images better now. Side view.jpgIMG_5615_medium.jpgIMG_5617_medium.jpgIMG_5616_medium.jpg

Welcome Pablo,
I can understand your preference for scratchbuilding your own sci-fi model, that way you can decide fictionally what the interior layout could be and how access and departure can take place.
When working as a pro model maker, the model store below our offices sent up a stack of Airfix 'space' kits, plastic card and other plastic items and asked if we could build them a sci-fi model for a store competition. This finished model took on the guise of an extended 'Space 1999' craft using as the base the main craft used. A lot of influence came from the models of Matt Irvine who wrote articles at the time (1970's/80's).
Look forward to more of your 'ship build.

Wow,! Am I correct in surmising you don't have an engineering degree ... or engineering design!? ;)

No, Steve. I do not think it's necessary. I'm just putting pieces together. No different from a kid with a puzzle.
