A limited run model from Special Hobby, the Bugatti 100 racer. Designed in 1938-39, the nearly complete aircraft was dismantled & hidden from the Nazis on Bugatti's Estate. It remained there until 1947 ( engines being used for auto restorations ). The aircraft itself was sold several times & ended up in America, restored. but never flown. Now in a museum in Oshkosh, a replica was built & flown, but crashed on it's 3rd flight, killing the test pilot.
The aircraft had two 450hp Bugatti engines one behind the other, driving contra-rotating propellers

Sturdy little box, nice boxart, the rear showing two colour schemes

Sprues are pretty good for a limited run kit, a whisper of flash here and there.

Resin parts, wheel wells, intakes & exhausts
Instructions are in colour on glossy paper - a bit small but look OK - colour call outs in Humbrol/Gunze paints

The colour schemes - the all blue being the original, the other a 'what if' fiction. No decals provided

This is a very petite model - it will be 107mm long, with a wingspan of 113mm. The parts look pretty good, not much detail, but I reckon that air racers had a very smooth surface anyway.
The tiny pieces, and perhaps the resin parts wouldn't make it suitable for a beginner, but otherwise, it's an unusual subject, and the Blue overall scheme is eyecatching.
Availability? Yes, quite widely available around £12.15 ( plus p&p ) I couldn't get any discount on the model, but shopping around you can get a saving on the p&p ( OK, only 50p or so, but it all adds up! )

Hi Dave
Certainly an interesting and unusual plane. Sounds pretty straightforward to make into a decent model. Colourful which ever scheme you choose.
