Well, I have gone and got a spray booth, a BD512. Hopefully this will help in me not gassing myself and help to get rid of the fumes from spraying, painting and glue. Paid £59.95 with free delivery so not too bad.

Yes, it's a great idea. Even Using mine vented outside with literally no hose the rattle can of primer left a mist on the adjacent surfaces. wear a mask! It's great with the ab, there is less paint and stuff floating about

I tend to do any spray work, rattle can work outside and have a filter mask when working in the shed, but needed something more.

This literally runs straight out the wall so no real restriction and most of everything goes straight into the vent filter and away.

Yeah it needs doing to make the thing worth while but it really is worth the money when you do.

Also make sure if you have sealed your leak in the shed that you have another inlet for air. If not the fan will not work efficiently.


I would also still wear your face filter.

Yep, they finally came out and redid the roof Ian-luckily the old roof with my bitumen on was bone dry so I insisted they lay over the top and use proper felt nails not staples, all seems okay.

Yep, replaceable filters Laurie. The shed has a vent for incoming air and then this will be exhausted separately. My mask will still be used, better to be safe.

I was thinking about building a clear surround to attach that has fine filter paper at the sides and holes for your hands, I saw a similar one and it made a large difference to dust getting into paint when doing car bodies where it can really ruin a finish but I'm not 100% sure on doing it yet

That is a problem Dougie. A help I find is to close the door slowly as this stirs up the dust. Close windows as you have air movement. Then using a plant sprayer spray the room from the ceiling down with water. Bit bizarre but its works-- mostly.

Good tip, I keep a lot of things in shed including mountain bikes and I haven't put a closing vent in yet either, have to open the door a crack. This shed will never be dust free in afraid but I will keep that tip in mind thanks...
