On the 19th November Aldi will have several Airfix starter sets at £4.99 - a Spit, Me109, Gnat, Provost, and the Cromwell tank. I expect they'll sell out quickly.

Pete

Thanks for sharing, Peter. I picked up a couple last time they had them in. Can't help thinking they missed a trick this year - selling kits in the post-Telford slump when everyone's skint!

Thanks I'll be there ;) Me109s & Provosts top of my list. Hope some are new toolings as previously the P51s have been. :)
Thanks for the heads up.
I've heard from a TK Max employee that some stores have Revell kits in stock. Also Black Friday is just around the corner. So keep em peeled for the deals. Cheers John

I forgot to mention the HMS Victory!

Pete

Are these kits any good then?
I just remember the "starter kits", a.k.a the "cheap" kits from when I was young and they were horrible...

I need to gather quite a few Flak and support vehicles for my upcoming 1/72 HobbyBoss Dora build and I feel lost amongst these unknown 1/72 kits...?
If some can be bought for a fiver then that'd be grand! :)

some like the Victory are truely ancient.....

Still make up to a nice model though..Wouldn't like to do the rigging mind!
Just thought I'd bring back some memories for those eejits that built this kit for 'That' G.B....

Bought these from Aldi today. (Other Supermarkets are available..:p) I've never built a Cromwell. I'll use them for a winter project in a post D. Day diorama - If the cold weather ever gets here that is!

Nice kits Ron and that victory looks good. That eejit GB you speak of I rember well as I couldn't stop smiling when you all signed up for it. Mine still safely tucked away.;)

I fancied a Provost, but all Stafford had left were two Cutty Sarks and a Cromwell. Doh.......

Research the kits you're looing at, reviews etc, then take the plunge. The Airfix aircraft starter kits are generally the newer moulds, but they have basic decal sheets with less stencils etc. I can wholly recommend the Vampire starter kit.

Lol Joe no not my purchase as I left some in the cage for others. I've kinda got most of the Airfix 1/72 scale kits covered.;)

Crikey John! Are you on the Airfix site as an approved stockist?
No unfortunately  lol. Many happy days of miles covered at local summer car boots sales various shows and shrewd buying from the internet. . Buying as joblots gets you better deals as some were as little as £3 each. A hobby in itself collecting.;) I'll build em all one say I promise!
