Day 8 into my enforced staycation and thus far, things have not been as progressive as I had hoped...

I expected to have complete a few of the projects that have been on hold for the last 6 weeks, but nothing has been accomplished.

Everything just got a lot more busy, all of a sudden, and I found myself with little or no time to tackle that pile of plastic, that just sits there on the table, silently, mockingly.

PeterAirfix hit it off when he said that his "24 scale spitfire was dragging him down and he had to put it aside until his mood improved", well, that is very much my condition now.

The weather here too has been uncooperative. The calendar (a rough guideline at best) says it's the first of spring, but the view out the window says very much otherwise. I like to build and paint in natural lighting and there hasn't been much of that available lately. Which is also contributing to my mood. In any event, I still have another week ahead and maybe some time during this time I will be able to make some headway.

As it is I have still to do:

• 144 scale Ju-87. Needs a little paint, canopy, decals. I found the bombs from my 144 Me-262 so those will fit nicely into the bomb slots under the Ju-87's wings. I also scavenged the leftover swastikas so that helps complete the look.
  
• 144 scale U23. Needs conning tower, railings, jumping wires, detail paint (vis-a-vis, rusting/wear), dive planes and drive shafts w/propellers.
  
• 125 scale U99 Needs love. Has none. Maybe soon.
  
• 35 scale Luftwaffe pilot Major Walter Nowotny. Needs to pull himself together. Poor man's in pieces.
  
• 32 scale Me-262. My birthday present leftover from last year. Looks daunting and I still can't make up my mind about how to tackle it.
  

Well, we've got a weekend coming up and hopefully I can find a few hours in which to finish some of these projects. I have learned a lesson here as well. Namely, don't bite off more than you can chew. My dining table is a mess...

Looks like you have just found your own answer Steve, too many projects on the go. I too fell foul of that route, little things that just piled up. I do try and just tackle one build at a time.

All I can say is take it easy mate and just tackle what you want when you want.

oh wow Steve, hard one to know real what to say ,but i think SI and Polux are quite to the truth,

it dose get overwhelming having a lot on the go at once ,i found that out as well, so i have just

been contrasting on the one build, at the moment and do a lot off potting about and have look

at the others and will come back to them,

Well, in all fairness, I channelled that energy into other pursuits.

I have a few WW2 simulation games that I indulge in, and it's hard for me to choose which of them that I prefer.

There is a B17 bomber game that I am currently advancing my campaign in. There is also the Uboat simulation "Silent Hunter 3". I have also recently read the Lothar Günther Buchheim novel "Das Boot", and I have to say it is much better than the movie, and I loved the movie. Maybe the morning will bring better light and I can get started, and make up for lost time. The smaller sub isn't terribly complicated, I just seem to have put more detail and time on it than strictly necessary. Once I get going like that, I can really make more work for myself.

Well, i still have 1/72 unfinished AC-130. For a 1/72 that this is huge, thought bigger is gonna be easier, but that is not the case. Hope you can finish em ASAP Steve, and don't forget to show it to us once it's done. Looking forward to it...

Hope your Mojo comes back soon Steve. It happens to everyone now and again , the spark just seems to dim a bit. What can sometimes help is anything that links to your build ,for example you say you have just read something about a submarine- that kind of thing usually re kindles my interest in a particular build and puts me back on the road, so I'd say youve already started to get the interest back and the sub is the one to crack on with.cheers tony

I Have had enforced modelling time out when we moved house and started doing the place up etc. Finished my Phantom, the enthusiasm had waned but I knew having an unfinished project would pester me later. I started my Harrier and am enjoying the single project so far. All the advice above is good, I think sometimes we just get a bit 'modelled out'. Watching others complete their works on the forum have helped to encourage and enthuse me again.

I can sympathize Steve, for me yesterday was a nightmare, I only had to look at something to break it!

To make you feel better ...

I dropped my favourite mug, spilt paint over the table, dropped a carefully painted small part into the only wet section of my palette, cut my finger & embarrassingly tripped over in front of 20odd people!
