A productive day. Painted the stainless steel window mouldings and fitted the body decals. Not 100 % happy with the bonnet as the colour is slightly off and edges are visible but even the box art is the same.
Lovely thin decals but quite delicate.

Applied the clearcoat and, apart from a few dirt nibs, am very happy with the body, mirrors, front ballance and rear spoiler. The bonnet looks like a dogs dinner, when I'm back from a weeks holiday and it has fully cured I am considering to flat it down, respray the large silver section and re- lacquer.

What's that wrinkly line near the front of the bonnet? Is there some filler there?

No Pete,
The bonnet decal is the thin stripe and about 2mm into the painted centre section. What you can see is either the edge of the decal or the masking edge of the silver over the green or a combination of both. Hence me wanting to redo the silver centre section but not obliterate the RAM AIR badges.

Despite you not being entirely happy with the bonnet it looks very nice so far 👍

Well I tried to rectify the bonnet with limited success - trenches worthy of WW1 remained on both sides and not wishing to strip the paint and lose decals I added decals in an attempt to deceive the eye. Still to clearcoat the bonnet again.

This is by miles the best Revell car kit I've ever built - nearly at Tamiya levels of engineering and parts fitment with much more crisp detail and superb decals. Bearing that in mind I've decided to go a bit overboard with the engine detailing.
Added a dipstick and guide tube.

Hollowed out the opening to the air filter and added vacuum hoses and fittings to the quick heat valve and both rocker cover fume vents.

The engine fan is much too chunky on the blades so lots of sanding tomorrow.

Also for tomorrow is trying to attach HT leads to the distributor and coil - see the ruler to gauge the sizes of the parts.

Thanks for looking in and will post again soon.
