Just seen this build. Looks brilliant! I’m doing the same model, newer generation. Did this one years ago. Can I ask exactly what the colour combinations were for the ascent stage? I’m at that stage now of painting!

Hi Neil. These were the colour plans kindly sent to me.




I used enamel paints and mixed my own. For the light green I started off with Revell Matt 45 Olive Green. I think I may have lightened it with some white, not sure. The grey was just a standard aircraft grey from my collection. Again not sure which shade I used on that. Sorry I cant be more help.

Really looking forward to your build but strangely I built the Revell 1/48 50th Anniversary kit (03701) which has the deflectors and mountings but no base or figures - hope you don't mind me posting a picture of it in your thread so you can see.
I also have the documents showing the different colours of panels as specified by NASA, if you need a copy contact me and I will scan and send them to you.

Thank you, lots of masking but fun to do.
For the bands I simply used 2 mm Tamiya masking tape wrapped around the appropriate position.
