discussion Stuka Pilot Colours

Hello, I have recently bought a 1:48 hasegawa Stuka G-2 and bought some pilots, however the colour reference for these are a brown/tan colour. I have seen pictures of Hans Rudel wearing a blue uniform/bomber suit. Does any one have a colour reference of pictures of what Stuka Pilots were wearing 43-45 when the G-2's were in service.

I answered your question in the other thread but as for Rudel specifically,a blue suit would be a winter suit for flights over land. I know the Rudel picture you are referring to and that looks to me like a summer suit which should be a tan colour. I've always thought that that picture might be colourised.

Summer suits were a tan colour.

Later leather suits were usually black or a dark brown but I can't think of a picture of a Stuka crew wearing such a suit.

BTW Rudel was an unrepentant nazi who knew both Eichmann and Mengele in South America. He was suspected of being one of those who helped Mengele escape from Argentina after the kidnap of Eichmann.
