This was the state of play tonight.

More filler added plus some pva into the mix along with some colours

The difference in the front is due to light from above

Excellent John - how not to give up. Inspiring.
Thanks, beging to think my middle name should be " determined " :smiling3:.
Hi John
Looking good. Well done to you for keeping at it.
Jim
Cheers Jim.
Keep 'er going mate. Rick H.
Cheers Rick .
John .

Quick up date, thought as I'd added the pva to the last mix all would be sealed ! Er, slight error !:flushed: made a mix up of Precision Ice and Snow water did a pour.
Seemed alright for about and hr then appeared as if the tank was trapped in a sea of mud. Luckily I had taken the precaution of setting the whole thing on a plastic sheet on paper, as it was in the kitchen drying. !!! :surprised: All was not lost, but suspect this morning will give a true picture of what's what.

Why I hadn't done as in the past a couple of good sealing coats to the base is somewhat annoying as it's a basic task when doing any diorama with water.
Assuming that when this first pour is fully cured in 48 hrs I can do another and finish.
I'd wanted to run a toothpick through the water mix as it dried to give a impression of movement, this doesn't seem to work even on the pooled areas I'd managed to retain. Back to the use of a Gel later I feel .

The one thing I do like us the " water on the front, sort of bow wave and in the track guards .
Still a little soft on the surface so will leave for the rest of the week.
Don't know if to add a coat of acrylic varnish to the top then another pour. Any ideas, both the resin and varnish are water based .
John .

Hi John
That actually looks very good indeed. Once it is all sealed you should have no more trouble.
Maybe I'm wrong but isn't that Precision Ice and Snow water a rubbery silicon sort of stuff so may not take acrylic varnish. As I say though I am not sure.

email sent Jim , so will report back .

Hi John,

You can pour another layer of PI&S water over the first without any prep with no problem

Haven’t tried painting it so can’t help there

It does tint nicely with a little dry pigment powder

Now that you've conquered Earth, Fire & Water, what's next? You're casting a large shadow Mr. Determined. :smiling4: PaulE

Your determination to become a creator of land and water is way beyond my meagre talents. I shall just look on in awe and hope and pray it comes out the way you want it to

Hi Simon, thanks, the varnish was just to seal, not heard back from them yet. I've used the one with bit of stick in and a muddy tinge, but of course you can't see that with all the colour under it :smiling3:.

Looking good John better each time like the different angle shots
Thanks Lee.
