That’s not a problem, the crew are 1:72 scale too

Anyway, cool model — nicely built, and putting it on your hand like that really drives home how small it is

Right then work mate feeling fully man flued up also way to cold to work so got out the AB and squirted some primer about ,first up the little chaps that started all this


Now on to the subject matter, ,have started to use mr hobby aqueous black surfacer 1000 to prime up with I've fond it faultless it lays down so smooth fool proof almost only trouble being its so good it shows every single mark no matter how small ,its shown just how rough the molds are on this little kit but not that worried get some green on it and I'm sure the overall picture will change



Not to sure about the t-bag but were go with it ,this one was a choice of two pulled from the stash ,enjoyed building this one so much I built the other choice as well

Same scale size difference is frightening ,more on the Bumerang elsewhere in a while ,but you can seehow good the primer goes down over some decent plastic?
Sprayed with a sparmax AB using a .3 needle (great little airbrushes) somewhere between 18-20 psi it was quite heavily thinned using mr hobby aqueous thinner won't go into raitios one man poison and all that. Could be a green day tomorrow were see what the day brings. Dave

Unfortunately no green day had to work and tomorrow so that put the kibosh on that. Mustn't moan I got to draw my pension in November but the extra income is always welcome , plus gets you out rather than stagnate at home ,bigger plus being plastic kits dont grow on tree's ya know. Dave

So missus taken dog out whole dining table to myself ,tablet primed with my YouTube play list all good to go ,fired up the compressor and dived in. Gave it a sort of pre shade with mig 4b0 highlight this was at least fifty fifty or even sixty thinner forty paint im never very strict about it to a certain extent it would have been four or five drops from the bottle to the same but drops of thinner from a pippet straight into the AB cup mixed with a brush tested on a bit of printer paper and adjusted from there keeping tabs on numbers used if I need to mix a bit more


Any tiny bit left is used for practice on the printer paper ,the model is only left for the length of time it takes to flush the AB through using a few drops of thinner followed by some clean water then straight on with the next colour




Colour used was a mr hobby aqueous paint im sure the jar said ww2 russian green (if anybody wants it say and I'll come back with the jar number). Jars of paint so much more convenient stick your badger mixer in whizz it up job done you KNOW its mixed all that plastic bottle shaking till the little ball starts rattling wrist repetitive strain injury i also stick it in a varnish shaker but are you really sure its mixed as well as the jar paint ,decanting from the jar is not a problem I use a little paint spoon/stirer straight into the AB cup. I'll return when I've blocked in the tracks wheel rubbers tools n bits. All good fun so far left it under the gentle little bit of warmth of the lamp so as it should be OK if I fancy a go a bit later. Dave

Thanks chaps this one is small even for 72nd ,strange the black primer seemed to shrink it even more but once I started to put some colour on it its sprung back to life. Si I like working in mono tone ,enjoy the challenge of making it not just a blob if that makes sense ,I have blocked in the tracks etc so will probably put a filter over it tomorrow just to tie it all together ,so small I think a little bit of panel liner to pop a few details and a misty bit of dust/mud will do ,too much on this and I stand the chance of it disappearing up its own. Thank chaps still enthusiastic about it did some in the early hours (4.30am) and later this morning but currently baby sitting our little rescue dog he's not needy but missus is out and he won't give you five minuets to your self he hates it if you get up to the bench got this way of making you feel guilty still he's safe with us poor little sod
Wouldn't be without him . Dave
