Neil, think that will be next, below is a section close up of a piece of blue foam, dragged with a wire brush as seen on UTUBE, although not fully painted I don'r even like it now. Too flat, looks more like a wood grain.

As you show only too well when dioramaringing, it's great fun trying various methods to attain the desired results.
I hope these pickies showing my method might be of some use in future projects.
These 1/72 roofs are done with ordinary beige gardening twine. No reason why it couldn't be used for 1/35 or any other scale. I tried for ages to use summat that looked like a thatch until I nicked the brides 'String'! I simply glued it on some old card and then to tidy it up I added some tie-downs using ordinary sewing thread glued onto the thatch as on my Rorke's Drift storehouse.
This WW2 Belarus dwelling outhouse roof is the same stuff, but roughly laid, as I intended to smash it up by pushing through it with my thumb anyway......
Cheap as chips and easy to use.....Well recommended.

Thank you for your recent correspondence.
I was very interested in the photos of your holiday homes showing the structure of the roofing. I was very impressed with the first one, however was the second one the one that suffered damage in the recent storms, as it looked in a rather dilapidated state .
I do hope to be able to replicate one like the first photo shows as I have been busy watching videos on U Tube of actual thatching .
Unfortunately here in Broadmoor I am currently under a fire watch due to the kitchens having been burnt down and any material anything like thatch is banned . I do have access to brush head material and be attempting to use this later today .

I have been moved from the allotments back to my old cell. block c bed 9 , next to Paul E, he was in bed 11 but since his last attempt he has been confined to a straight jacket and moved to bed 10.
The window will be open to allow the Owl in and out . He brings in some tasty morsels during the night. Must go now as due a visit from Matron.
Not had change to model as have been on line to a lady somewhere in India who is now completely confused. She was trying to tell me how to change my pass word by telling the site I had forgotten the original . This I did and the site open up in my account, no chance to change the pass word. To change the pass word you had to give the existing one, which of course I don't have.

Jim a simple request has turned into something no one seems to be able to answer. Each time I type " new pass word " it connects me to the site, but doesn't show the one they say I used. Even tried it on the phone to see if it works that way, still no. Can you write to them, NO Could I ring, that woulds be about as helpful .

Success, yes I managed to do it linking two accounts together. Like most things I don't normally give in. The problem was another with another account .
