Hi folks.


I just got one of these and thought you might like a quick, in-box look at it.

There are four variants that can be built, although two of these are the basic fork lift with either short or long forks. The other variants are an angled plough and a small crane.

I've not bought any Takom kits before, but after seeing this they will certainly go on my list of manufacturers to look for. The moulds are clean and sharp with no immediate evidence of either flash or mould seams anywhere. There are ejector pin marks but these all look to be in areas which will not be seen (unless you're a judge with one of those little mirrors on a stick .....).

The main body/chassis is in one piece which should eliminate any alignment problems.

Detail looks good overall but there is not a massive parts list (no parts count is given) and there is no engine, although the cabins are nicely detailed inside. Doors and windows can be built open or closed, the steering works and the fork lift elements can be built in various positions (it does not look like they will be moveable). Construction appears to be straightforward with no special modelling techniques required.


There are four colour schemes shown with decals for all options with a full colour set of images for each. The schemes are basic green, three-colour camouflage (green, brown and black) and white. Paint references are given as MIG Jimenez colours - disappointingly, there are no colours shown for the interior of the cabins so a little research will be needed. Instructions are nicely printed as an A5 booklet and look clear and simple.

Transparent parts are crystal clear and protected in an individual bag (my photography set up is not good enough to show these through the cellophane I'm afraid).


There is also a small ready painted sheet of PE and separate vinyl tyres.

I'm sure I saw an early review for this which stated there was a large box on a pallet included but my kit does not have one.

Ah well it's like this Patrick .....


I did Geography in my first year at secondary school and came bottom but one in the class. At the end of the second year I came bottom of the class so I decided Geography wasn't for me and did German instead.


Now I can't speak German either - apart from being able to pronounce a few words - so the whole exercise was a waste of time!

Great review dave , looks like a nice kit . I had no idea what a feldumschlagerat was ( conjures up some pretty nasty images though!!) , so when i saw it was a fork lift truck i was surprised and a little relieved!! As for the missing crate , i reckon you just might have enough stirring sticks to scratchbuild one?!!, looking forward to seeing the build , cheers tony

I've built a couple of Takom vehicles and they go together really well...good luck with the condition...I mean construction

Paul - I'm thinking of the dio possibilities; both military and civilian so it will be a while before I get round to the build on this.


Meanwhile, I had thought of maybe putting this (and/or some other stuff) on the back of a lorry. Does anyone apart from Trumpeter and Hobby Boss do artic transporters in 1/35 scale?
