Omar shrief has died at the age of 83

Funnily enough I just happen to be watching Lawrence of Arabia, now that's a strange on

RIP Omar

He was brilliant in "Aurence" of Arabia. The first part of the film in the desert

with Omar and Peter O Toole was just absolute magic.

All made just more incredible by the haunting music of Maurice Jarre.

Saw it in London and they had rigged the cinema for a long run.

The speakers were festooned around the place giving out 6 tracks.

Just an incredible sound.

The screen was the full width of the cinema and bowed.

It just felt as though you were in the desert.

From what I have read Omar loved to gamble away all his money.

Not so good 83 is a bit short nowadays. But I bet he had a

great life especially with the women. Some have all the luck

and good looks. Ah well.

Good film.
True, but rather too long for my liking :)

Was it Olivier who said something to the effect that had O'Toole been any more beautiful in that film he would have had to have been a girl?

Cheers

Agree on the length Steve. Found the first part as I have said incredible. In the desert.

Unfortunately I found the second half a strange mix. almost as if they had finished the

first bit and then run out of money and imagination. Very sad.

If you look at T E Lawrence he was effeminate. Visited his cottage type house some

years back and looking at the photos he appeared a bit weird to say the least.

Actually Omar looked a bit of a sweetie in the film.
