Tamiya 1/350 KGV plus extras

Bob,
Really starting to look good. I have never thought of using PVA for etch.
Excuse us Bob.
Paul , Jim put me on to Gator Glue works well . Unfortunately don't think the guy produces it any more because of bad health . Think normal PVA would do just as well for some things .

That's for that Bob. I like those glue loopers shown earlier in your thread .The V 2 looks perfect for small sections using normal thin glue and the V3 for CA . Definitely going to get some .

Hang about! You put wood decking down then painted them?
Now you going to paint them again to look wooden?
My head hurts!

Mine too

Going to put down wooden deck, then use lifecolor deck stuff to weather it. Seen a picture of Rodney's main guns, it also shows the worn and weathered deck planks, will post the pic

Will take ages though!!

Ian, sorry, do you use the normal primer or the one with micro filler??
I have the ones with Micro filler. (apparently).

I think I remember why I stick to the plastic decks now. Mind you, as a deck stain strong black tea is rather good.
BEFOR you go painting your decks, remember that the time period you are building KGV did not have painted wood decks. Only the steel decking was painted.

Hi Ian

bit of confusion sorry, not painting the decks but trying to weather them

great picture of the sheer power of HMS Rodney's monster 16" guns, note the deck planks and the different shades, this is what I hoping to get close to using Lifecolor deck liquid pigment stuff, hoping is of course the word lol

naaaaaahhhhhhhhhh OK I thought that you where going to paint them lol.

Even better reason to try the tea wash first. Test it out on some of the scrap bits first though.

No, my roller is to big ;):thumb2:

Will do Ian, got some wooden deck to play with!

Been practising with enamels for the first time, watched the Sovereign Hobbies vids on Youtube, very clear and useful. went very well, 50/50 thinning and 15psi, went down well on scrap plastic and back of plastic spoons.

found it does not smell as bad as Mr Color!

They are very nice paints but I have ONE shop I can get them from here in Denmark. If they are out of stock, its normally a loooong wait until they get an order together.
I am slowly going over to Acrylic and have found All the Royal Navy colours (and most of the German navy) colours hidden in Vallejo model color range, a few in game colour, and panzer aces Best bit. very few need mixes and all are very good matches.

I was lucky, they were restocking when I was after paint, but there's still some paint not stocked. They either answer messages quickly or not! The videos are very helpful.

Will see what KGV bum looks iike, biggest thing I have sprayed yet
