A quick 2 day build to keep me occupied in-between work on a slow moving project.

There weren't many parts and they fitted together perfectly so I had it built, primed and basecoated in the first day. I sprayed it with Model Air and the planets must have aligned as it went beautifully.

Further work today included shading/highlighting with the airbrush, some chipping with a sponge & brush, various shades "splattered" on with very low pressure on the AB, and a black/brown wash made up from Model Air, water & a drop of washing up liquid. After a bit of dry brushing it got a pigment wash on the wheels and under the arches with a sprinkling of dry pigment over the top, then the decals were slapped on with no silvering now that I've stopped using Micro Set. All finished off with Winsor & Newton Galleria matt varnish.

So quick & dirty, but I like how it turned out for such a nice and simple build.

Two days well spent at the bench Andy. A fantastic little build. Very impressive. Will you put it on a little base or save it for a bigger dio further down the line?

Thanks Steve. I'll probably put it on a small base, but haven't come up with an idea yet.

I've ordered a few of these 1/48 armour kits as they are small enough to store, easy to build, and good practice for painting and weathering, so there should be more coming soon.

Looking very good indeed. Considering you've only been modelling for a relatively short space of time, you really are turning out some excellent pieces.

Very well done Indeed.

Thanks Andrew.

I know it's only a simple build but everything just seemed to click with this one. I didn't have my usual battle with Vallejo, the decals went down nicely and the DIY wash & weathering behaved the way I wanted.

Good news for the future, and techniques I can hopefully build on.

Nice result Andy

These Tamiya 48th kits are good - I have a considerable stash of them now, just need to get around to actually building them

You do realise that next time the paint, decals etc will all behave totally differently now you have said that :smiling3:
