Well I've got a little done now. Didn't buy all the paints required as didn't have the cash on me plus the model shop didn't have all the ones needed anyway! But as a first model in years I font mind. Kind of calling it practice sitting down and steadying my hand!

Here's the cockpit so far Inc front axle and splitter

And the V8 engine.

Sorry for pic quality, phone camera!

Not bad , nice even paint work , quite detailed yeah I'd say coming along nicely , I wish my first on coming back to the hobby was that good :)

Next update I will pinch my father in laws camera! Might buy some more points and try adding some detail or go over some bits. Eventually I want to try my hand at a pit and crew diorama.

Whoops due to problems with my phone I haven't updated this in a while!

Anyway do far the kit has been as easy build other than me trying to keep my hand steady while painting. I tried some different brushes and in different widths and the finish I'm getting is getting better although I have an Orange paint same type as the others which won't settle and dry like the others.

At some point the cabin area has moved which I didn't notice until putting the front part of body on which is irritating. Inverting to decide wether to do a crash diorama or take it apart and reglue the cabin where it should be.

Need to paint the front white and tidy up one or two other bits but apart from that I'm pretty happy for a first go!

Looking really good mate :D

So.... Have you brush painted the shell? :)

Yeah brush painted it. It's come up pretty good actually considering. Though got one or two fingerprints from fitting it. 2 hours to dry the tins say, 2 days more like!

Looking good for your return build. Are you staying with cars or building a variety? :)

Anyone got any tips for fitting a long transfer? As you can see on windscreen mines broken in few places. The kit comes with 2 transfer options depending on which racer you want to copy so I can always use the other one for a better finish. I managed to lift half but the other half kept breaking really easily.
