Now that I've been into the hobby for a while, I've slowly built up a good selection of paints, from several manufacturers, including Tamiya.
And I've noticed something... not sure if its come up before, it probably has....
Why are there apparently no Tamiya paints between the numbers Tamiya 28 to 49?
Cheers (y)

I seem to remember someone asking the same question some time back, if I remember rightly they used to be those missing numbers but have since been discontinued and that’s why there are missing numbers. I could be wrong but I’m sure someone will correct me if I am

AI gives several options, including the answer I gave when we discussed this in September 😁. One I hadn’t seen before is that some numbers are considered unlucky in Japanese culture so may not have been issued. It’s as good a theory as any…….and I don’t think anyone really knows….

Ah sorry, did not remember it had already been discussed, cheers.

There was a YT video on Sunward Hobbies channel I watched just this morning regarding this. Seems it could be due to old kits referring to colours that have either been discontinued or have had their numbers changed, and so that people do not paint their old kits in the incorrect colours, those numbers were discontinued/deleted from the range.
