thank you for your welcome

i really do need to learn to spell model (lol)

i will give them a try paint codes i have are for ts sprays.

emailed tamiya uk who said they were withdrawn but gave no reason for this

tempted to try mixing and airbrushing even if its just a test piece

Hold on Simon thats the PS range , I was told by Emodels back in October that it was a labelling issue with the TS range and it should take a couple of months to resolve (which is now) but don`t hold your breath mate.

I`m no expert but I would not use a car spray on a model - cars are big - models are small , the pigments in the paint are totally different , I could be wrong but ?

hope this helps

thank you

no need to appologise

i have got colour codes for all 3 tamiya paints and with the best will in the world it is dificult to tell weather they are good matches

the ts xf and ps code do not corrispond with each other and depending on the monitor pixel definition it would be a hit or a miss (my son gave me this info i'm not a nurd)

my problem is i have bought 1or 2 moto gp bike and i would llike to copy them as close as posible might be a big ask for a novice but if i start with the right attitude i might get the results i am looking for

hi simon ,welcome to the forum, on the subject of car aerosols for models, yes you can as long as they are the acrylic formulation and not cellulose.Halfords acrylic paint range are perfectly safe as is their appliance white spray( a must have for airliners!) and i have used hycote acrylics with great results. see attached pics . One last thing (maybe the most often used ) is dont forget halfords grey primer , i always give my models a thin coat to give a key for the paint job and to highlight any final work that needs doing ie. seams that need a bit more filler etc.

thanks simon, have you tried squadron green stuff filler, it works for me even over a coat of primer, and sands off easily with wet and dry paper or sanding sticks , then another quick mist with the primer, cheers tony

Gorgeous finish on those models Tony, love that blue.
cheers graham, a doddle to use too, theres more pics of the caudron 450 ( the blue one ) in the thread in aircraft pictures section ,cheers tony

click on forum on the top tool bar, then scroll down to the aircraft section and click on aircraft pictures, i think the plane is on page 1 somewhere near the bottom ,cheers tony

Doh! i thought you meant the aircraft pics section, you obviously meant the green stuff filler. this stuff is available from most hobby shops(eg modelzone to name one)and is just applied straight from the tube with a thin stick or spatula, once dry (usually overnight) it can be sanded off with wet and dry paper or sticks to give a nice smooth finish. hope this helps ,cheers tony
