Both suzuki bikes riden by Kenny Roberts jnr a few subtle differences between the 1999 bike still in factory colours the brain child of engineer WarrenWilling ended a 3year dryspell for the factory and managed to finish the season Second in the championship,In 2000 in the new Telefonica MoviStar colours, with the frame on the 00 cut back to save weight. And other main componants moved to a central position to optimise ballance the V4 motor having been tuned for better handling went on and ended the season by winning the championship with 2 races in hand...

So far a nice build part of my stash and as good a time as any to start building them... chassis pictures attached progress as and when i get the chance, good news weathers bad in the north just now so hope to get some relief from the garden duties and general diy someone has a list

Great work. Epitomises what I like about bike kits, it’s just like building real bikes!

Lovely Simon, super clean.

Does the front stand come with the kit or is it something you've knocked together yourself?

Just cut up some sprues The the crows foot with the thick plastic i drilled out for the centre post as this would let me use different lengths .... for other kits but work‘s good so far

ok so started body work while I waited for the chrome to strip from the forks and yokes, it looked good on the frame and swinging arm but the forks just looked cheap...
body was good to fit up and even the white paint went on well the decals for the 99 bike are intense but will take it bit by bit
pipes were exhausting and after filling and priming a couple of times painted up. then re primed the result 3rd time was what I have settled for not great but in the right direction look okay fitted...
2000 bike fairings and tank the blue looks amazing and all in all coming together well

Well back to work this week some what quiter than usual but great for catching up rreally didnt like the working from home thing to many distractions.....
bikes on the other hand have come on a fair bit
the movistar i really though would be a bugg** to decal but turned out really great one or 2 minor issues but nothing mental, bit of a panic when i put the micro sol on it as the clear bubbled right up it settled down by morning, i would have clear coated but due to an issue with my air brush that will have to wait for a week or two and i managed to get hold of some polishing compound so would like to try this...before i sign off on these two.

The other suzuki xr89 went together well and i never gave the decals a second thought till i picked up the first one The exhaust can, it just disintegrated i have honestly never seen that before, so i used the ones from the 2000 bike and they were fine, from that point on every care was taken and i managed to get most on with no issues, but all were very brittle i even thought of buying the reissued model to steel them from that kit, i have pictures of them and might print a new set but it looks ok not clear coated yet, worst seemed to be the carbon decals on the seat and tail i have patched badly so this area i will very probably redo, let me know your thoughts
on the movistar i used an after market carbon decal it looks great but hard to see in the pictures
