I decided to paint the head today:

The helmet was first painted white, then weathered with graphite and pastels, before being given a touch-up with Precision Ice and Snow wash. I also painted the gaiters, but have just blocked-in the boots in black, as I intend to use the snow wash on those as well.

Thought I'd commented, sorry Peter it appears I haven't.
Like the photo of the various shades on the German uniforms, going to print that off for future used .
Love the uniform on the figure, your whites are always convincing and strong . Impressed !

Morning Peter

Lovely work on the head, nicely muted helmet too.

Looks like you'll be finished today?

Have you another victim lined up yet?

Should be a decent day for painting before Storm Dennis arrives?

Frosty here this morning, and a trip to Nab Wood scheduled for us today, its a cemetery, and it would have been Anna's mum's birthday.

Never any shortage of red flowers, shame she wasn't partial to red!

Have a good day with the paints

Regards

Lee - Thank you.

Rick - Another couple of days I reckon.

Colin - Thanks. I'm thoroughly enjoying this one.

Steve - Taking my time with this one, so probably only one or two items of gear today. I have Dragon's Kampfgruppe Hansen schutz lined up for next We had storm Dennis yesterday - it got too dark to work at one stage. Hope the visit to the cemetery goes well..

Cheers Mick.

The harness is matt black with wear along the edges and holes added with thinned red leather. It was finally given a coat of satin varnish.

The leather straps on the ammo pouches etc were done with saddle brown lightened with white. The outlines were drawn in with black/brown.

Peter. I like those gloves I’m sorry to sound so vanilla and not paying attention to winter uniforms I just never seen those kind of gloves very good job

Hi John - Tamiya haven't quite got them right as the trigger finger should emerge from the palm of the mitten. They're more like this felt type which didn't have the drawstring
