What brand foam cutter John?
Once you get used to it you'll never go back, and you'll never make a mess with those granules ever again :hugging-face::thumb2:

Looks good John. As Rick said open top vehicles do throw up issues when painting. Good job with the tracks.
You'll get on great with the foam cutter. It will open up a load of opportunities to tackle different projects. You already have so much skill in dio making that the cutter will only be a good thing.

Thanks Jim. Although the tracks were very small and a bit hard to see except when wearing 3.5 to get the wire in l'm more than pleased with them.
Hopefully the cutter and I will get on. Expecting a steep leaning curve as like most people having never used one before, if its like using an AB I'm in for some fun.

Spend the afternoon cleaning a pile of equipment and weapons, didn't seem a lot to look at but needed doing . Also did some filling on the figures, the normal torso to the legs , and arms . My tube of Green stuff had gone completely hard , only used about 25 mm, back on the Deluxe modellers white putty. Even that had to be coaxed out of the tube .
Now I've had a play with the Proxxon I shall continue with the base and photos !

Our grandson and his partner had arrived
from Torquay on Saturday evening.
As they had gone for a meal with our other daughter and husband to night I've managed some modelling .

How to paint the kit off the model , I've tried before and ended with more paint on me than the kit
Having stuck one piece Tamiya tape to a nother section of other inverted Tamiya tape using only a thin edge I was able to push the parts down and still be able to lift the whole thing up .

Several coats of paint later there ready for some top coat .

Also sprayed the figures .IMG_20230212_180623951.jpgIMG_20230212_180601403.jpgIMG_20230212_180555255.jpg

There's several more .,sorry there on the side ,but up loading these straight from the phone .

Also built up last night the Proxxon MDF jig

Lots of fiddly stuff done. Surprising how much time that takes.
That jig for the Proxxon is worth its weight in gold.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I have missed a lot. Looking very nice John. Usual quality build, how's the cutting machine

Racing along(see what I did there) John ,looks like your a multitasking miracle mate . Dave
Dave , don't think I did it in one day :smiling3:it took several days of prattling about to get to this stage ! The jig was the easiest part .

It does indeed Jim .
Yet to try the jig and Proxxon in build mode, building my self up for that ! The jig fitts well and appears to have no movement.

Hi Bob , you have every reason to miss my ramblings.
As I said to Jim not used it yet in modelling mode, building myself up to that .

Today I put all the figures after hrs of work into a container of VMS ab cleaner . Success, took about an hour to soak, and then brushed the paint off . So good in fact one head came off and another body came apart !
All washed in soapy water and then clean, now drying by the heater over night . I'd taken my time, built up layer by layer but not happy . No good continuing when it's like that . In the meantime I've filled the base sides with wall filler , will sand down later and put some edging ply on .

Not had a chance to use the Proxxon yet , wanted to get the figures done first .

So JR, are you feeling a little like good ole Mr. T? I recall him dunking that Julie babe and the cwazy wabbit more than once coz he was unhappy with his brush work! Once you get all the pieces/parts stuck back together, start back fresh using the "Marlow Method", of course.....may the force be with you ;) :thumb2:

After the fiasco with the Neo , taking it apart , cleaning , checking just about everything on it , I've gone back to the .34 needle assembly.
Think it's a lot to do with thinning , also found that if the connection to the ab is really tight the air flows all the time. Releasing the connection slightly stops this
Anyway having done another coat things look better .

The last one looks as if he's in a snow storm !
Oh well I ll just carry on .
