Hello, I'm here to share my new experiment on making tarmac airfield with tile.
Prepare kitchen tile/floor tile. Ceramic one would be better, please choose the one with matte/satin matte surface to ensure your paint grip nicely, glazed/gloss surface are NOT recommended.
The paint I use: primer surfacer, black, brown, dark grey, sand beige, grey, pale grey and white (This is the colors of spray paint, you can using airbrush paint too)
For washing and weathering, Tamiya enamel paint or oil paint will do, your call. Prepare some sponge in case of touching up some flaws after done painting.
Here we go.

1st layer: I use Matt Black.

Spray some water, put some salt and let it dry.

2nd layer: Brown. Just spray randomly.

3rd layer: Dark Grey (like Gunze 317) spray randomly. Please remember to apply salt randomly every time before you apply new paint.

4th layer: Sand Beige. Spray randomly as you like.

5th layer: Grey (Similar to Gunze 307++)

6th layer: Pale grey, i fully apply onto whole tile.
After this, I mist spray some White for fun, it's optional.
Basically it's done after you spray Pale Grey (Gunze 308++)

After everything dried, use warm water (around 30°C) to wash away those poor salt.
You maybe need to use a soft brush to brush it, after that you'll see the result depends on how you paint and apply salt. If the result is not good, or too much black dots, use some paints to touch up.
I use Grey & Pale Grey to touch up those flaws by using sponge technique.

Using masking tape to mask and then spray black color for gapping between each airfield tiles.

If you want, you can touch up the weathering with oil paint/enamel paint.

You can spray yellow lines and making number using decals and so on, it's all up to you. It looks like this when it's done.
