So, SORRY... But yet more pictures,(well, tomorrow I'll be spending most of the day down in JANNER land, replacing roof tiles for Rach's Dad),so I'm making the most of today's time.... I've been sneakily sorting the wings out ;) ....

So, after doing the Tiles,(was a bit of a nightmare actually  ) ...
I left Rach down in Plymouth land, with our daughter to go shopping..
.. therefore got some unexpected time in on this :smiling3: ....
Took me, literally,HOURS, to mask it all up.... in fact I got so engrossed that I forgot to take some pics!! :(
.. it doesn't really matter mind,I can still show where I'm at, even though there are a few areas that need attention,I'm still quite pleased....

As usual, the pics a a little disappointing, but it's certainly on the home straight now eh?!! ;)

Cheers Andy...
... Yeah, and to think there were another 2 crew to boot ... This was certainly BIG time!! ;)

I wonder if any of it's attackers thought is was a normal size single seater so underestimated the distance to it?
Pete

Masking often takes longer than the painting and then there's all the worry about removing it. Has it leaked or is it ok. You've got a good result. The pilot certainly adds scale to the beast.

From a ground to air perspective I imagine that would be so. We used to use a few visual tricks to foil submariners to make wrong calculations by flying at the wrong heights for our type of aircraft. (There are rules so as to add safety separation for military aircraft at sea). So the submariner would try and triangulate and get our distance wrong!!!! :smiling5: You have to be sneaky in ASW!!

Ok then Guys,an update.....
... Got wings and stuff on, also weathered a bit of the landing gear..
IMG20230521164654.jpg
Obviously a way to go,but after the recent stalemate it's good to get a bit of progress ;)
,... you've already seen em, but wings are on ...

As we've all said before....
... It's certainly a large beastie , ;)
... Still surprising me as I build it up, just how big they were!!
.. maybe that's why so many got shot out of the sky?!! :(
Still a cool kit to tackle... But NOT this Italeri version of you want my opinion ;)
Busy day at work tomorrow, but I'm still hoping to get a bit more done. :)
Cheers for now,
Andy

Seeing your progress got me a thinking!! Dangerous for a Sunday I admit. Seeing your undercarriage and wheels got me wondering did aircraft tyres and wheels have creep marks? They certainly did when I was working on them through the 60's to 90's. Reading on the squinternet, evidently they still do - Unless!!! They have tubeless tyres then they can creep as much as they like.
If a tyre creeps on a tubed tyre, the inflation valve can sheer off and the results!! Well - catastrophic in the worst case.
OK, that's my thought for the day over!!! Back to sleep for me!!

Smifffy,
Looking really nice mate, as I said before this is one plane that might get me to build a plane.
Much appreciated Scottie,(DAWG!!),I, for one, would love to see you take one on buddy.... Mind you, with what you do with your AVFs,I think you'll put me to shame!! ;)

Good point there, but,(and despite my RAF background with all types of Aircraft, from Nimrods,to Phantoms and then Tornados), I'm not really all that concerned with the intricate minicia,I like it to look close on,but it's just a hobby/model. ;)
Looking sharp Andy
Thanks Ian,much appreciated. :)
Mr. Smiffy beautiful updates let’s hope this gets Scottie to build one.
Lee.. my north American buddy,(no offence Rick and Paul!! ;). ), Thanks for that... And yes,I totally agree.. I'd love to see him take one on :)
Looks great Andy :thumb2:

I really like that paint scheme.

Geoff.
Cheers Geoff... I just hope I can get it to tone down a little... despite them being the "recommended colours",they look a little stark to me... hopefully the varnish coat, and Flory wash will sort it out. ;)

ALL, I've done a bit of repair work behind the scenes, which has,I think, helped a lot... An update either later tonight or tomorrow :)
As always, thank you ALL for looking in. ;)
