Thickening sanding sealer

Can anyone please advise as to what I can use to thicken sanding Sealer? I am using a "Rohacell" a polystyrene type material which is pretty open grained, and I need a smooth finish after sanding. I have heard that SS can be thickened by using talcum powder. Is there a better solution? Thanks.
 
You have given the reply in the question. Talcum powder.

If you want to make your own you can in fact just use varnish with talcum added.
