There is no such thing as "Too many Kits" :)
I agree there is only a to small budget and the wife;)

But if the budget is there and the wife isn't buy it!!

Cheers Richi

Good man as has been said you can never have too many kits , I've only been back into building 2yrs and I have 13 kits in my stash, if my missus says anything I just say one word "bikinis " she buys 7 or 8 for each holiday, I could equally say shoes, wraps, evening dresses but the one word is usually enough to illicit silence.

Whhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! How's the ride so far Peter?
That's it now ......... No more kits........

Although I might just have a look at White Ensign Models, apparently they do the metal gun barrels, guard rails and brass propellers for the Kniaz Suvorov........... But I'm only going to take a look just in case I might need them in the future.

Now both you and I know that's a bit of a fib.
Well maybe......... But none of it is in stock .........and as far as I can tell from googling it none of the other alledged stockists have any either .......... So even if I really wanted to get some (which I don't) I wouldn't be able to :(

You can't get away that easy Peter! Here you go:

........... 'er indoors has said she'll buy this barrel set for me for my birthday ....... I doubt I'll get anywhere near it this (or maybe next) birthday ......... So a result all round............. Thanks for the link Dave.

Glad to be of help Peter. Like you, I couldn't find any PE for this kit. I'm still looking to find what PE is available for the Arizona I just got so if I come across anything I'll let you know.

Things you can not have to much or many of:

Kits.

Bacon

Coffee.

Time.

and not necessarily in that order....Oh doughnuts. I forgot doughnuts.

Nice ship look forward to seeing you build that Peter...

I already have the Trumpeter PE set Alan thanks. One review I have seen says there are not enough railings supplied in the kit, but the additional sets specifically for this kit I have seen are either very expensive as they contain lots of parts or too fiddly - the Eduard set has the deck railings with separate stanchions and chain type railings which need to be hooked on to them. I'd never be able to cope with those!

I have seen some generic type railings which may be OK for my purposes but the suppliers I've found don't have them in stock and seem unable to say when they could get them. When I get the kit and I can check the exact type of railings needed, I'll ask our John - he's bound to be able to help. There's no rush though. Even if I started the kit as soon as it arrives, it would be many moons before I'd be ready to start fitting the PE!

Apologies Peter - I seem to have hijacked your thread a little!

Bacon! ...... One of my "Five a Day", Sausages, Fried Eggs, Fried Bread & Fried Tomatoes ........ Put that on a plate and you've pretty much covered all the main food groups ........

........ It might be a while before this one comes out of the box....... There are a couple in front of it. But I think it'll be a good one to take me through the winter months, as it looks like it'll take a while, as the fit is a bit suspect on the kit and there is a lot of rigging ........... We'll see how big a bite I've taken which involves all that proverbial chewing....

So you too know the four main food groups: sugar, starch, grease and burnt crunchy bits! Good man.

I now have a full set of Metal Turned Gun Barrels for this .............. I'm proper looking forward to getting onto this one, it's still a couple of months off as I want to finish off my current project, then I have a fairly simple and relaxing build planned before the dining table becomes a Russian Shipyard.............. and I think building it'll take a while as well.

Impressive set of guns there.
It had a lot of them ....... Unfortunately the Gun Crews were ill disciplined and had only very basic training as did the whole ships company...... So the Japanese made big holes in it and it sank just 9 Months after it was Commissioned.

.I'd really like to get hold of the "Wooden Deck Kit" that was produced for it.......... But it seems everywhere on t'internet that advertises them are out of stock........ so maybe it isn't produced any more. I might just have to see if I can remember far back in my apprenticeship how to do "wood graining"
