Yep, that’s exactly what I meant: put the model on the foam and out some cocktail sticks or something tight up against it. However, I’d advise cutting the foam to fit the container, so it can’t move around and bang the model into the sides. Especially with the pitot tube in the lower photo, I’d expect that to not survive otherwise.

Limited amount of foam...but it is wedged lengthways, so won't be moving anywhere

I do it with foam too, I make sure fragile things like the landing gear doesn't touch anything.
