Hi all, thought i'd join ya. So had this little gem at the bottom of the stash for a few years and think it's time she got built. Had a quick look in the box and i don't think i'll have any problems (famous last words hehe).

Have fun, JohnView attachment 279371 View attachment 279372

Nice one John. If you decide to do it in the Caunter camo scheme, don't use blue as per the instructions. It should be more of a light green/grey.

Nice catch a lot of people miss that. However the paint for that colour did fade to a pale blue tint as the sun got at it, though nowhere near as blue as many will have us believe.

Thanks guys, was scratching my head thinking "blue! thats not right" lol. I have a book somewhere on the Stuart but can i hell find it, so a big help Patrick & Ian.

Have fun, John

Love this tank, too, especially in that Caunter scheme. Don't know why, as I'm not particularly into green and greyish, moldy cheese. Also interesting that you're building an Academy model, at least for me, since I've yet to build a kit from that manufacturer. Good luck, and I'll be following :)

So, i've made a start (and still can't find my book :(). This was going to be an out of the box build but i can't help meself, it's an illness hehehe. Just added a few wires, i know they're not in the right place but it's just to make it look busy inside. Added a bit of styrene to the sides because (to me) it looked a little thin when the hull top is on. Best thing is, probably not see anything when it's all closed up .

I've seen the slate colour as a dark green - like in the AK Interactive & Xtracolor ranges. I'm fairly certain that Mike Starmer recommends a darkish green
The paints I used are by track pads, unfortunately no longer in business :( and I believe, made in collaboration with Mike Starmer.....
I also have the xtracolour paints, but have heard they are not to accurate, especially the light stone.

Brilliant, I have a Chinese copy of the Hasegawa kit for the Cosford £5.00 build. Not being an armour person, I'll have to follow your build closely. Timing couldn't be better !

Been a busy bee over the weekend on the little Stewie. The seats have now got bum crease, the running gear is fitted. Added detail to the cupola, and i'm still working on that because i'm putting some detail for the vision blocks. And found a figure for scale too, not long now for paint.

Have fun, John
