This was languishing uncompleted for a good eight years after I packed away my old modelling room prior to a house move. Now completed as newly delivered V-HE from 263 (F) squadron in August 1940. One of the great under appreciated aircraft in my opinion, with very advanced features for its day.

Did the cockpit closed up for a change, so here’s a shot through the canopy.

…and a last side view…

Not a bad kit. I had a little trouble with the gear doors as, usually with aircraft kits, the location was far from positive. I made a cock up with the camo on the undercart doors, and there is one major anomaly in the kit that would not be an issue on later aircraft. The decals are Xtradecal as the kit ones were pretty poor and dubiously coloured. Decals cost me more than the kit to be honest, but were worth the improvement.

Hope you like it.

That's a very nice result Tim. Certainly deserved to be completed after it's 8 year hiatus. To my shame it's an aeroplane I've not heard of.

Cheers Jim. Came out OK didn’t it :D Stick with us and we’ll complete your education 😇

Beautiful build Tim , a fascinating , if not hugely successful , aircraft . Dont make us wait 8 years gor yhe next one ! Cheers tony

Thanks gents, Tony I was surprised that the decals held together I've had some real bad experiences in the past. Yes she's a big old bird I though the P47 Thunderbolt was big for its time but the Spad makes it look small.

Cheers Tony. I usually make a couple of aircraft a year. Last year I did the Tarpon and the Zero, both on here, and I did the 190 recently as well ;)
