Back into the 'groove' so to speak.
I've idley flicked through here a few times, as I do with most of the forums I'm on, but does anyone else have trouble getting either the time or the motivation to sit down and stick some plastic together?

Sometimes I'll come home from work, and for whatever reason there'll be something on the TV that catches my attention, or I'll nod off for 15 minutes, and it becomes a real chore to actually go to my 'model' room (spare room, mainly storage) and sit down and make something. I find it frustrating that it will get to later on and I've not done anything. Admittedly I've been spending some time after work building up a mountain bike, but I really should get on with my current project,

Anyone else find this?  Not sure if I'm just venting my frustration or what here, just something that has been going round my head :)

i get like that sometimes

until recently i used to work a 3 shift pattern.......great when i was on days or nights but when i was on back shift i just had no enthusiasm at all

i find the best encouragement to go to the bench is when the memsahib wants to watch some rubbish on telly

I feel sure it happens to lots of us. It is a hobby, and sometimes other 'life' issues take over. But eventually, sometime in the future, the desire to build will return. Give it time.

Life has a way of upsetting most hobbies I think and it is just a case of getting your priorities right. Even when you have sorted everything though, life will still pop up and throw the proverbial "spanner" in your works for short periods. You have to count the time you get for you as a blessing and force yourself to make the most of it

It happens to all of us from time to time. Some days it is very difficult to sit down after work and do some modelling, in fact to do anything but eat and read.

Well thank you all for the kind words and reassurance. Guess it's a bit more common than I thought!

Yes life does get in the way and some times you can't get into the modeling room, but when I can get in I find it so relaxing and well worth the wait.

I'd say most of the guys here, including me, have had this problem. I don't see it as a major issue though. Modelling is a hobby that you should want to do, not a task that has to be done. If you want to model, then model, if you don't feel like it then don't. Don't lose any sleep over it, and whatever else you do, don't sell off your stash and tools! if you want to box them up and put them away, that's fine - they'll be there when the mood takes you ..... and it will!
