One of the things that figure modelers have to stomach is the gruesome task of amputations and beheading to get figures to your desired pose. Below are remnants of such a surgery measured appropriately for the depth of the water logged mud of the paddy field...

Now finally the figures are posed as they should be just getting off the UH-34 and cautiously wadding through the paddy. The Advisor officer taking the lead.

The ARVN trooper is happily waving to the crew chief perhaps thanking him for a safe ride as most of these troops have never ridden a helicopter in their lives not knowing that most of them may be riding back in bodybags. The ARVN were not bad soldiers if led well unfortunately poor intelligence in the early stages of the Vietnam conflict often put them on the recieving end of well informed and ready NVA/NLF such as the Battle of Ap Bac. There they used the CH-21 to airlift the Battalion.
