Purchased a Gerry Anderson UFO aircraft which was badly damaged and needs a lot of tender care. Decided to do this in reverse order ordered some new skids and will have to find away to fit them on. No missile with the this model typical the first thing to be lost when playing with them.

So got 4 replacements which needed repainting and marking put also decided to have a set of missile carriers built.

The thunderbird 2 in metallic blue was not supposed to be sold as it was a factory fault in the paint department, the pre sales reported that the metallic version would not sell, so they went with the green version instead.

Ooh, never heard that before. Most of the Dinky TB2s on eBay are blue, the blister-pack version, so that must have been a re-issue sometime? Like ten years after Thunderbirds was first shown?

Also, I've just seen a white Interceptor, with a set of red-stripe stickers, offering. There's an, exhaustive, internet site on Dinky Anderson releases, and he doesn't acknowledge a white issue, so that's a minor mystery
There's also a story that the green finish was because that was the paint Dinky had a stack of. Which would also explain the Eagle!

And that's it for our un-sponsored minutiae time, and back to the modelling studio!

I had a green one……loved it. Had a Spectrum SPV as well…..don’t think I ever quite understood Captain Scarlet though 😳

What's not to understand?
Secret mission to Mars, (by international law-enforcement organisation), destroys city of super-powerful aliens, which they can remake with a perfect copy through retro-metabolism (space magic), and who then spend the next thirty-two episodes slaughtering thousands of innocents to get revenge for something which they had the power to counteract in the first place, and the organisation responsible for the whole thing has to spend all their time, energy, manpower (and budget) often failing to counteract said death and destruction...

Yeah

Bit weird

Didn’t make much sense to me when I was 8. Probably an acid dream of JAs….

It's the translucent plastic sets and lens flares that make some episodes of Scarlet an acid trip

But if you want deeply weird, as we're in UFO mode, try 'ESP', 'Cat with Ten Lives', or 'Long Sleep'

Or 'See You Down There' for Joe 90

Or any episode of Stingray written by Alan Patillio

And are the aliens in UFO the Mysterons as well?
That's a bit of fanon, which is quite fun!

Allow me to explain the fan theory. Which has never been explicitly denied.
The Mysterons are, indeed, invisible, or, at least their physicality is never seen
The UFO aliens use human spare parts to keep themselves alive. There is the implication the bodies may be constructed from those spare parts. In 'Cat With Ten Lives', the cat is inhabited by an alien, implying they are actually psychic entities, with no physical form
Ergo, Mysterons

Oh yeah, and the 'dying planet' they're from, in the end titles is the next one out from Earth, i.e. Mars

See how easy it is to fit all this stuff together?

Okay, so, also the invaders from 'The Invaders' (adopts stentorian narrator voice) may also be psychic entities inhabiting construct bodies...

Don't you just love this forum!
