Hello my friends! Recently I bought this kit from eBay. Year1978, but verry good plastic! the level of the details is high, I like it, but, the only think I don't like is the look of the deck once you is painted. So , I had to find a way of making this beautiful model to look better. I hope that this project will be a success. Did I mentioned that tis is a combined effort again? Me and my son!View attachment 105938

Looking good so far. The wooden deck will enhance the model no end. At that scale there are many metal replacement parts that would look better than the plastic, if you want to go that far. Model Expo, Bluejacket Ship Crafters, Loyalhanna Dockyard and MANY others have all the stuff. Eyebolts, blocks, and deadeyes are good things to replace as is the rigging thread that comes with the kit.

This is looking great, I have just started an old Airfix Golden Hind, not brilliant in the fit dept. but like this one nice plastic, nice to see your son involved.

What a great project and a lovely way to spend time together with your son. This is looking fabulous and I have no doubt that the finished ship will look magnificent.

Well done team!!!!

Cheers

Thanks! Well to be honest, it was a trick at the beginning. I asked my son to gain his time spendet on Xbox game with educational activities at his own choice. He started reading books but when the kit arrived he ask if it could be a project for both of us. We allready had some, but we are doing 2 big projects together! I am happy having my only son sharing the same hobby . Actually we have two:
