This is my candidate for the Rocket/Missile Build.

Thank you very much for organising this Lee. It is very much appreciated.

As I mentioned previously on the chat for this build, I purchased this of Ebay, not realising it had already been started.

So my first job is to check the build so far and determine if any corrections are needed.

A great choice. These Humvees seem to have filled so many different roles. Being Tamiya it should go together nicely.

It was all going so well.

I've spend some time tidying up pieces and dry fitting thr interior of the vehicle.

Whilst doing this I game to the part of the instructions which said to install the full drivers seat and the back of then passenger seat. I couldn't find these parts on the sprue and also the previous owner of this kit has ticked them off in the instructions.

So looks like they've been eaten by the seller's carpet monster. The model was packaged up very well with lose parts in a bag. I'll have a hunt around and maybe contact the Ebay seller but I guess this is one of the risks of buying second hand.

I'm not quite what to do with now. Any suggestions? I guess you will propose building them from scratch but I've never done this in my life.

Mike

Looking at your photos I think scratch building the driver's seat and the passenger seat back would not be difficult. I'd make the frames out of 1-1.5 mm sheet stryrene and the cushions out of some sort of putty, Milliput would work. Unless you're a real stickler for accuracy you could simplify the frames and no one would really notice.

I've most of the sub assemblies and dry fitted them together. All seems good so far.

There are a few other small parts aibhavent attached yet.

Next step is to prime and then start the painting. I think I might mew a few new paints.

And I'll also have a go at scratching the two missing seats.

Looks a very good dry fit Mike. Should glue together without problems. I'm sure your scratched seats will look fine. They will be inside so partially hidden anyway.

Other than the seat issue, it looks like everything is going together quite well.

Give the seats ago, you will be surprised what you will be able to do. They wont have to be perfect as they will be hidden from view.
