I've made a start on the torso:

I ended up stripping this down three times, before getting to this stage. I had wanted to do the gambeson (padded armour) in buff, but for some reason it looked awful. I next tried Vallejo Japanese Uniform, which is a rich yellow ochre, but again it just wouldn't work. Finally, I went for the red on the box art, which was also testing to do, but did finally work. His tunic will be green rather than the buff on the box.

Great head - real character.

Actually it wasn't until people had access to refined sugar that teeth began to suffer.

I was talking to my dentist a while ago. She said that when she started 30+ years ago she rarely had to extract milk teeth from young children. Now she said it was a regular occurance and that in a few cases so many teeth needed removing that she had to refer the child to hospital. Parents may have more money these days but too many seem reluctant to 'say no', give of their time or take responsibility. Very sad.

That should be fun, better than the grey days with potentially wintery showers!

Steve - Well into the whites at the moment - there seems a vast amount of surface area to paint.

My daughter's driving course has gone pear-shaped I'm afraid. It was intended as an intensive catch-up with a test at the end of it, but she got more and more nervous and had to admit that she would need an awful lot more ordinary lessons before she would be ready again. One of the things she didn't bank on was the impatience of the other drivers on the road.

Think Jim is spot on about white, even painting it seems to take layer after layer Peter.
That looks damned good .

Pity about your daughters driving lessons, people just don't care anymore about L drivers, there was a time when consideration was shown and given .

Peter,
that looks brilliant, but do you think he looks a little 'clean'? - his hand doesn't look like a tough mans' hand who has been fighting a tough campaign & tough life! I'm not sure about how they kept their surcoats clean, but Persil wasn't around in those days!
Hope you don't mind me passing on my own thoughts ( from a novice to a master! ).
