Scale Model Shop

Welcome to Papa695's Bi plane GB. Chat thread

Doug, you never know until you try - some biplane models aren't that difficult, the Roland CII in 1/72 or 1/48 for example is pretty simple,

The struts are the simplest of any biplane!
Dave
ps Revell reboxed this & you can find it at a very nice price!
I do like that :thumb2:

Dave,Dave,Dave:astonished:.....

Oh no! I love helping people spend their money - I hate to think of modellers struggling to find the model they really want to buy.

I will follow this GB with great interest.:cool::cool::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

Well now. What DO I do?

This is only a PART of my RAF silver wings stash.

The Horsley is a vacform, so a bit of an outlier for this go. Haven't done a vac in a LONG time.
And I've never actually finished one...

Maybe I should take a vote...

Or go with this

Or, go with the 1/32 CR.32.

Wow! - The Contrail Hawker Horsley was one of my more successful vacforms! - sometime in the 80's - the reason I built it was that my mothers' maiden name was Horsley! Vacforms were the only way to make the more obscure aircraft ( short of scratching ), pretty much a dying art.....................

Dave, may I ask why you used the word 'Contrail' in reference to the Horsley. :thumb2: Thank you.

KP doing the DH9s was a surprise (AFTER I'd got the Maquette R-1 - harumph), so after I got the Horsley six months ago I thought that an injection or resin one might suddenly materialise

Well,if you do a vote, put me down for the Hector....
No military reason...I just used to love "Hector's House" as a child!!

Very true Tim,he certainly is!!...
Blimey we're getting OLD!!:anguished::tears-of-joy:
And we fit together about as well as a Frog kit of the same vintage...

Which reminds me, why did Hector's 'sexy' frog neighbour keep climbing the ladder to see what him and the cat were up to?

Aah, forum tangents!

Seriously tho' (ha!) I suppose I COULD start with the Hector and work backwards thru the Hart variants... Still don't have Hardy yet...

Ian. Nice idea for a GB. Mind if I join maybe? I’ll have to go to the Vintage Vault and look around for my subject tomorrow let you guys know soon if I’ll be joining

I made quite a few Contrail vacforms last century & the boxes are quite familiar................ a lot of those are now available as injection moulded, but at the time the only models were vacforms. One which eluded me, but is still unique is the Fairey Hendon..................
