Aircraft, A Cessna 152 becuase thats the plane I took my PPL lessons in, then I found one so i was quite chuffed, have yet to build it and it will of course be in the flying school colours and have the registration of the plane I flew most frequently (G-BDSL)

Motorbike, Kawasaki ZXR750, because? It's Iconic, the bike I lusted after since I first saw one, and i'd like to model it after mine, oddly there are decent models of the Honda VFR750R, same era, much less affordable

Car, Reliant Regal / Robin / Rialto / new Robin, with the titling on the box to read correctly 'Reliant Robin' and not Robin Reliant which is a real bugbear of mine, a friends father introduced me to them and my first car on the road was a Robin Estate

Aircraft, (again), Rutan Long-Eze, because I like them

Cars, Opel / Vauxhall Vectra DTM or BTCC touring car, MG SV

Aircraft, a decent Buccaneer (come on Trumpeter don't price yourselves stupid...) I'll second the VC-10 in 1/72, Vickers Valiant in styrene, Hawker P-1127 or Kestrel

Sci-Fi, Star Wars V-Wing & B-Wing

Space probes

I would like to see detailed plastic kits of famous unmanned space probes, like Voyager, Mars Viking, Galileo, Mars Exploration Rover and so on. Or a really nice large scale (1/32 or 1/24) model of the Apollo Command and Service Modules.

1/48th Beechcraft Kingair 200. Never produced by any manufacturer to my knowledge, (there is a resin 1/72nd by RVHP). This is a popular aircraft for military training, flight calibration, Royal Flying Doctor Service, general aviation and been in production for many years. I have to admit a bias - I fly in these on navigation calibration sorties in the UK and Europe!

A 1/12th scale Ford Escort MKII droop nosed RS2000 and not a Rally version too

this would have to have standard wheel arches with four spoke RS alloys with

rubber tyres and working suspension with a highly detailed engine bay and interior.

A 1/6th scale RAF Bomber Command pilot/gunner figure as seen between 1940 - 1945 fully equipped out.

I would like to see the 1/48 Vulcan that airfix promised years ago with all the aftermarket bits ( yes I`m mad but I have a big garden!)

car wise could Trumpeter produce a 1/12 scale Ferrari 330 P4, plus detail bits.

Gareth.

Don't we all....lol

About 20 years ago whilst looking around these so-called bargin shops at Skeggness

i came across strange copies of model motorcyle kits and boy was i in for a surprise

they were all 1/6th scale at £3.99p each ! these models were copies of...

Tamiya. Suzuki GSX1100S Katana.

Tamiya. Honda Monkey.

Tamiya. Honda CB750F.

Tamiya. Kawasaki Z-1300.

Tamiya. Honda CB1100R.

Have you seen how much these kits are ? ££££

These copies were 'bang on' and the actual sprues looked no different in colours and quality to Tamiya's works of art, The only draw back was the box's were very thin and poor all the instructions were in some kind of Korean wording.

I went a couple of month's later to get some more and they had none left and when i enquired the shop owner [who could hardly speak any english] said they won't be having anymore in because they were illegal copies and he said that someone on Tamiya's production line secretly got out the moulds and banged out several hundreds of them each and sold the kits to a Korean toy factory and the toy factory made their own box's instructions and decals.

This factory has since closed down due to bad safety standards.

Martin someone did sell a goldwing kit many years ago but I was told it was ______p? I never found one to find out, Just to rub it in a little we had a 1000 cc wing for 15 years, oh boy what a bike! sorry mate?

Hiya Gareth, ive seen on the internet some obscure company do a Goldwing, some weird scale as well if i remember correctly i believe it was 1/15th scale ????, also as you say i think its a very poor model at that.

Blooming dead jealous you had the real thing mate, just admire then so much...would love to see some pics if you still have any bud. My Mrs wont go on a bike, that sais she loves trikes and she said she would be happy to go on one of them. Ive seen some awsome Goldwing Trikes...very serious money though, out of my price range unless i win the lottery!!!!

All the best mate, regards Martin :-)

Just had another thought of a kit i'd love to do... 1/32 Jet Provost Mk.5

This is the jet i did my airframe mech training on at RAF Halton :)

Hi Martin, sorry didn`t want to make you jealous ( He He ) I do have some piccies but they are not digital and my son has aquired the scanner for his work. A 3D modeller, but will try and post them at some time. My daughter is a biker and has an Aprilia RS 125 extrema the de restricted one, its quick and a GSXR 750 in the yellow and purple Corona Alstare colours, she hasn`t gt her full licence yet so cant ride it yet! nice bike though. The Duke is nearly finished, yes I know i`m slow, it`s me age, having arguments over the exhausts, the metalcote s/steel is good but a little on the grey side so I am going to try alclad 11 chrome and tamiya clear colours, and cross my fingers? I will get the trusty canon out and play David Bailey for a while. Bye for now. Gareth.

Cheers Gareth, nothing wrong with building a kit in slow time mate, im certainly not fast, i much prefer to take my time and enjoy it, whats the ole saying "quality, not quantity".

Good on ya daughter, a cracking brace of bikes she has there. Take ya time with the Duke, worse thing you could do at this stage is rush it. Not tried alclad myself yey, but heard good things about it, hope it works out ok bud, all the best, Martin :-)

Ford Probe, New shape Mitsubishi Colt and Fiat X 1/9, in fact there should be more normal cars available as kits. Who wouldn't want a scale replica of their own car on a shelf?
