Presently I have number of projects to complete many of them are waiting for decals to be created from an external source...
I have 2 which are causing major delays to complete.
I purchased a job lot of 4 cheap cararama vehicles to be converted to my ideal fire engines.. Most of them just wanted to be resprayed and put on the side till I had thought how to change them.
One was any conversion to a point
I removed the turntable ladder put it away for a rainy day, removed any other parts that I did not want, which ended up in the recycling pile. Sent a friend the models to be resprayed and any holes to be filled in. Hunted round ebay for extra parts but could not find anyone who had the parts I needed. Such as hose reels and cabinets to fit the model. Couldn't find any on ebay or anywhere else. The friend rang me to say he had completed the resprays. During the conversation he mentioned that he had replaced his printer to print out stl files. So I sent him some rough drawings of the cabinets and other items which he duly printed and painted them for me. Placed them on the deck so I could see what the finished item may look like. He then went oh I stuck them down was that okay and said it was...
When I got the models back looked at them and something was missing... Found some old 1:76 railway chain cut it to length and placed on top of one of the cabinets, but still the model seemed incomplete. Spent ages scratching my head looking at images on the internet found some fire brigades using smoke extractors looked around the internet for an stl file for a smoke extractor model and could not find anything that would do.
Watching tv and some boring mp going on and on about the benefits of heat pumps, thought to myself that a heat pump looked like a smoke extractor, hunted for a few hours and found a stl file for a heat pump went wow. Sent my friend an email and asked to look at the 2 images If I bought the stl file could he alter the stl file slightly to make it more like the smoke extractor he said yes, sent him a the money to buy the stl file.
Cant wait to see the finished products ...
Then went it needs some extra lighting (when am I going to learn when enough is enough) lol lol
With the estate car its nearly finished thats if I can find an stl file for a pair of boots, with water proof leggings and a 1970's firemens helmet, (no chance) will have to settle with my second idea a small drone...
