I find myself in the fortunate position where I have £ 90 in my paypal account ....... I need to buy something. Normally, I wouldn't spent "Big Bucks" on a kit but .........This caught my eye........

BF109 G royal edition.

Kit contains 2 x Eduardo 1/48 kits , 2 sets of brassin resin parts , 2 sets of photo etch , 2 sets of masking , decals for I think 18 schemes . Beer glass , beer mat , real piece of a downed BF109 mounted on a plaque..........

Is it worth £ 60.00 ???? ...........

The other thought is maybe a "Long Arse" build ......... Maybe HMS Victory or KGV or HMS Hood .............

A proper Dilemma ??????

Why not get the Airfix 1/24 Typhoon? That's £75 at Wonderland Models & John might be able to price match?

Or find a bit more moolah & get one of the Trumpeter 1/16 T-34s ;)

I'd say yes it's worth it , if I was still building wingy things I'd go for one

My argument for spending big on kits is what enjoyment can you get today for £60 and it take you weeks :)

The Typhoon doesn't really appeal ........... The Hobby Boss 1/16 T34 is a possible ....... I found one for £55.00

Err hello... There is only one real model coming out this year. The mark 1 escort from belkits haha! Oh and the vw polo :P

On a serious note I love the idea of that special Eduard kit with real plane bits

He is open to offers on it ..... But having thought about it........ I don't really need a Beer Glass, Coaster and a chunk of a BF109.

I've had a mosey around John's shop.........and I think my choice is either:

1/35 Trumpeter T90 MBT or AFV Club 1/35 M109 Paladin SPG ............ I know Trumpeter are good kits. But I know nowt about AFV Club ???

I might just do that Rick ............ I've just seen the Meng 1/35 - T90A ......... I built the Meng STS Tiger and that was a superb kit............ I'll have a look at what Jan has, and if nothing sparks my interest, then I think the T90A is the way forward ............ John also has a M198 Howitzer in the shop for a good price. I want one to tow behind the Hillbilly Gun Truck I have.

I wouldn't get the Hobbyboss ones (either the T-34 or their Tiger) coz they're RC kits with very little detail & molded shut hatches etc.

Agree on the Escort mate :D :D.

The 1/16 t34 by trumpeter sounds good peter , or i know you like a good ship kit so maybe one of the Tamiya 1/350 jobbies , Yamato , Bismarck etc -these always look mighty impressive when built and would take a long time to build so getting maximum bang for your buck. Another one that caught my eye and can be found for around £110 is the new HK models 1/32 Mosquito , cheers tony

Have a look at his ebay shop and ask home to bring whatever there is that you might fancy.

I suppose it depends on what type of model you prefer to build. o_O When I was a kid, it was Military and Aircraft kits that I liked most. When I was 17, I joined the Royal Navy and when I was demobbed ten years later, I took a fancy to building ships and submarines, mainly from plastic kits. I then went big time and built a few larger wooden ship kits, which have since, all been sold. I then had a break from modelling, until I retired just recently. I have a bit more time on my hands now, so decided to take up modelling again, but this time, to concentrate on cars and motorbike models. I prefer old classic cars, more than anything and am not into these modern rally or racing car kits, that have loads of decals all over them. So if I had a spare £90 I would opt for the Airfix 1/12 scale 4.5 litre Bentely Blower kit. I alread have one in 1/24 scale, which I have yet to build, but I would love the larger kit. I wouldn't mind some of the Poacher kits, but they are beyond my affordability and skill level, and are pretty hard to get hold of now. So I have to be content with just drooling over kits like those.

Anyway Peter, good luck with your choice and hope that you choose something that you really want to build and something that you will enjoy building.
