The key seems to be finding products that work. Ones I've found so far:
- Citadel Chaos Black spray cans for anything that needs Matt black like seat covers etc.
- Zero Paints if you really insist on getting the correct body colours. They're pre thinned for airbrush.
- Citadel Corax White brush paint for brake reservoirs etc. I've got a few of the metallic colours too for detailing engine parts where they've used exotic alloys.
- Tamiya XF85 is good for replicating rubber handlebar grips.
- Sticky foil tape is great for making hose clamps for coolant pipes
- Molotow Liquid Chrome is great for detailing fasteners
You end up with a whole pile of random stuff while you try to make it look a bit better.

That looks really great George. I concur with your list of bits and bobs to a large degree although I have been getting some really good results lately with AK Super Chrome. I love the colour matched Zero paints too although I did have to start again once after rushing on the top coat a little too quickly and reactivating the layers underneath. I find that Gunmetal mixed with Black Green gives a nice rendition of the green passivated finish on a lot of the fasteners and brackets that the Japanese bikes are quite fond of.

I'll give that AK Super Chrome a shot.
The blue on the calipers is just Tamiya LP48 with X23 over the top. It gives a good anodised blue effect
