Hi folks having nearly completed my first 1/32 plane kit its enthused me to try another I have the Focke Wulfe 190 f8 by revell with all aftermarket goodies, and before starting it I would like to try another kit. Only specification is it must be 1/32 and belong to axis powers and finally be no more than £50. I look forward to your thoughts.

The 1/32f8 from revell is a great kit it goes together like a dream and is quite detailed out of the box, I recommend only a set of seat belts.

I really don't do aircraft especially at 1/32 so I cannot help but whatever, I am sure it will be worth watching.

What about the Revell 1/32 109 G-6? That's a detailed kit which goes together very nicely. At around £20 it won't break the bank either!

The best Axis 1/32s I have found are as follows:


Revell - cheap as chips but not necessarily particularly accurate or best fitting:


Arado 196 is their best kit in this scale


Junkers 88 (the rerelease with bombs is best) is OK but here are some build and mold quality issues. If you like a biggie then this is it.


Hasegawa do a good FW190 and you should be able to pick one up for your budget. Likewise their Stuka is a good one, better than the Trumpeter.


Eduard and Dragon have excellent Bf109Es, better than Revell's G if you can get them. They should come in around your budget.


If you can put together just a little bit more than £50 then you can have a real treat with the best Zero model you can get for £56 delivery paid for

Make no mistake the Tamiya 1/32 WW2 series of kits are the best models that you can get of their subjects but the Zero is the only Axis kit in their series. If ever you want to spread your wings away from Axis and to allied aircraft and are willing to invest more than £50 then the other Tammies in the series include three Spitfire versions, two Mustang versions, two Corsair versions and a superb Mossie. the Mossie will set you back about £130 and the others around £100 each but they are worth every penny. The best you can buy.

Eduard for me I`ve got a few of their 1/48 kits in the stash and they look superb and include photo etch for the cockpit and other bits - window masks - decal sheet for different options , great instructions with full colour schemes for the aircraft .


with a 1/32 Eduard 109 you can`t go wrong you even get an engine and them naughty decals that a lot of kit makers don`t do , everything in one box , you should be able to pick one up for £35-£40 no problem.

Barry has given a good answer above.I'd just add that the Cyber Hobby/Dragon Bf 109 Es are outstanding kits, on a par with the Tamiya 'uber' kits. I've built a few 1/32 scale Bf 109s of various types and the Cyber Hobby/Dragon Emil is, in my opinion, the best.


You should be able to get one within your budget too.

My local shop had a hasegawa 1/32 A6M5c Zero for around that price, you may be able to find it cheaper online. I don't do 1/32 (yet) but that was a tempting kit.
