There is this thing that people think of the people who govern them as aliens ( oh yes some will take their opportunity here). You voted them in. Even if you did not vote you still voted the government in by not voting. Think of that you voted the government in.
The next mystery is politics as if it is something remote from life. Something which does not concern the people or self. It is the aliens again in the ether.
Politics is the policies of the way we live our lives. To cast it aside as "politics" as if it is not your problem is rather silly as those that do are allowing the others to decide on how you live your life.
For those who do not vote and allow others to run their a question. Would you allow some one else to choose the colour of your car. What you eat etc etc all very low priorities. But not voting or taking an interest in politics is allowing others to run your way of life which to me is of paramount importance.
On corruption. There is always a minority who are going to "take the biscuit" which is not theirs. Amongst the 600 MPs there are a small percentage of rogues this is typical of society in general.
Of interest answer this question. Would you take on being an MP knowing that you could make a better standard of living outside parliament and end up more wealthy ? Would you chucking in your job to become an MP knowing that after 5 years you may be rejected by the voters and find yourself without being able to resume in the work you gave up to be an MP.
Last if not satisfied with the system why not try to re-arrange it rather than moan. If not you have no case to grumble. How many belong to a party to change ideas. How many have been to a party meeting (which ever party). How many know their MPs name ? How many have been to see their MP to complain ? How many watch programmes about the politics governing our lives not just now but for the last five years ? How many know what their local government are doing ?
Have you delegated the way you live to others ?
