Hi Tim I live in Carshalton Surrey about 5 miles from Croydon. It's the first time it's ever been this way, get Spitfires from Biggin Hill now and then.

Not over my house, but I went to the Newark Air Museum today, and just as I got out of the car a Typhoon passed overhead on its way to Coningsby. Too fast for me to get the camera out!
Interesting museum, well worth a visit.

          Photo: Mail Online

Saw this fly over today after returning from a trip dropping 750,000 poppies over the Battle of Britain Memorial, Capel-le-Ferne on the White Cliffs near Dover. It was accompanied by two Spitfires and a Harvard(?).

Peter, your very lucky, we live near RAF Wittering and there is no flying at all.
The only thing we've heard was the Air Ambulance, too quick to even see it, always flies quite low and when do see it a great sight .

Wright Pat has been quiet. With little crime & auto traffic, even Life Flight has been quiet. It usually flies right over us. PaulE

We currently have only about 3 commercial flights a day so aour airspace is pretty quiet, the RAF have been taking advantage of this with quite a few training flights to Guernsey - apparently the approach over sea is useful training for them.

My youngest daughter and I got to see the USA space station Fly over Tuesday night around 9:40 looked like a moving bright star. The moon is on the right and the space station is the little dot on the left.

Did have some F22 Raptor activity as a Florida based unit was at Wright Pat during a weather event and returned to Fla. this week. As usual, too slow w/camera & planes too fast to capture. PaulE

If you want more information - here's the link -

                          NASA

Type in your location on the map - then click on the nearest "blue" tag,
then on the pop up message - click view sighting opportunities.
Page re-loads with dates, times and length of time visible etc.
It's very accurate, there's also a link to an interactive map - shows you the current
location of the space station in real time.
