It's the way the Russian machine works. Weedle their way in to countries with arms deals, (via display teams, warships formal visit, military personnel on bestest behaviour). Look at South Africa frequent visits by Russian and Chinese military). Turkey!!! Playing one against the other, (Nato vs Russia/China).
Putin will never sway from the old party line.Comment

A Spitfire and Hurricane from the BofBMF flew over but I was too slow to get any pics :confounded:
Apparently they and the Lancaster were making several flyovers around the UK to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic.

It must have gone on to the Torbay airshow after, (or before??). Been looking for it but it obviously never flew over Lyme Bay!
What did fly over my place was the HMCG fixed wing aircraft. Made me wonder if it too was for the airshow OR was it monitoring an oil spill as it flew over three times!Comment

Ok, I must admit took some finding after hearing it. Living on the coast, first thought was a new method of illegals getting in!!
THEN, I spotted the para glider sporting a very loud fan!!!!
Don’t usually see them that high!! Not over Fraggle anyway!! (That’s Portland by the way).Comment

No photos, but I was sitting on the sofa yesterday late in the afternoon and heard a noise as if somebody was using heavy power tools on masonry. Since there’s scaffolding against a house further down the street, I figured they were hard at work there. Then I noticed one of the neighbours’ daughters standing on the pavement outside, looking up at the sky. When I went into the back garden to see for myself, I was greeted by the sight of three AH-64 Apaches in formation, flying almost directly overhead in the direction of the sea.
The mystery was solved by this morning’s paper, which had an article about how yesterday, 11 Airmobile Brigade of the Royal Netherlands Army held an exercise some 20 km east of here.Comment
