By the time I get my camera out when something interesting has flown over me, its gone. I have an image of you in a lounger in the garden, wrapped up in woolies, liquid within reach, eyes peeled.

And yesterday we had the Strikemaster display aircraft (Strike Display UK) on approach, now this one was a "grab phone from pocket and shoot dozens of pics & see what come out " job.
First plane pics since being way too close to the Gnat crash at Oulton Park

This flew over our flat today. Jersey Battle of Britain air show.
Did not see a single one. They flew absolutely directly on top of us. We heard them
Unfortunately could not get away to see them. Pity not a cloud hardly in the sky hardly any wind and a short sleeve shirt regime.
Went to the airport to view themyesterday but told they were not open to the public until the afternoon.
So from a viewing point of view it was blue sky and thundering noise. Another year.

Farnborough just bade farewell to the Vulcan for the last time, quite a turn out for a quiet but graceful flypast by one of this nation's most iconic achievements. Walking back through the various buildings that are now part of a business park I felt extremely proud that this little patch of Hampshire that I call home contributed so much to the wealth of the nation. The Royal Aircraft Factory, the wind tunnel, the RAF's HQ when first formed in 1918 and the old airship shed skeleton not to mention watching the flypast just a few yards from where Cody first took to the sky in powered flight for the first time in this country over 100 years ago.

We live right by silver stone circuit, so close that a few years ago before engine change, it was like a constant swarm of bees in our house during F1 so we get the red arrows frequently.
Just lately, we have had the Vulcan about five or six times,
And then we had two gorgeous spitfires doing some lovely fly pasts and were so low over us, I got some amazing pics, but they're on the laptop from the DSLR so I'll go download them now.Comment

It's that time again when Farnborough is the centre of the aerospace industry's attention. The visiting aircraft are starting to arrive for their check flights, unfortunately for me I am in Toulouse while all this is going on. Photo courtesy of my domestic engineer.
