Getting slow this. Was flying on 24r December 2006. The weather was dry but very cold and damp as it had been raining during the night. No one else turned up.

Went to Aviemore on Boxing day to my other club's site. Three of the stalwarts turned up. We had some nice flying with excellent weather although cold. They were telling me that they had not had too much rain. Not like Fort William which had a h,,, of a lot.

Glen Nevis next on th 27th to check leccy fence and change the battery. Took the Wot4 but did not attempt to fly, the water covering 3/4 of the runway and the wind goiing from flat calm to 30/35 mph. This kind of windiness is very common at this patch due to the surounding terrain.

31st Dec. My Son and my Daughter with their kids arrive to bring in the New Year. Son collapses with the flu, even worse for me I felt ill, then was unconcious from the 1st for three days. Recovery still ongoing due to pesky persistant cough. Nowt but gales and rain since, near non stop.

    2006 99.22 inch of rain

    Dec 20.00 inch of rain

Bob, I hope that you recover fully soon. It's that time of year for these things and nothing worse than denying you your flying time.

There are a lot of nasty bugs and things around at the moment,my dear wife has had an awful cough now for weeks, even anti-biotics do not appear to work ?

Keep in the warm Bob and rest, forget the damp flying fields for a while, the forcasters say this is going to be a very hot summer ?

Just noticed that UKTV history chanel has a program called "tank overhaul" starting tomorrow (tuesday), might be worth a watch for any armour buffs out there.

Thanks for the good will guys. First outing of the year today, supermarket with my other half. That was a big enough walk for the day, in the shop.

Hey Char, the saying is, "every cloud has a silver lining". I hope you find one soon.

If there are any Simpsons fan on here:

"I declare today to be snow day - the funnest day of the year!"

This is strange, I thought twas a while since anyone posted here, came and looked. I got beaten to it. Hard frost with a very light dusting of snow here this morning. It rapidly melted off, though with the wind chill it felt cold. Had some model flying since last week, the patch was perfect as a brake with the correct consistancy of mud for the wheels to dig in. Twisted the one piece glassfibre under carraige and ripped one side off. Never had that before. I hope you all had safe travelling today.

I'm jealous guys, I love the snow. You can't beat belting down a hillside with only a modicum of control, on a moonlight winters night. When you are glowing with the heat from head to toe head home for a cup of hot chocolate with a splash of rum (12 year old Bajan of course!) in it as you sit by the fire and steam!

hi guys. not had much chance to get online as of late. been busy at work and just want to relax with my feet up or sleep when i get home.

today i did something iv wanted for a looong time. got a tattoo. i got a tiger on my left upper arm (like iv always wanted) my girlfriend dosnt know why i got a tiger but iv always loved them. i think it was from when i found out i born in the chinese year of the tiger at beavers :S but anyway. if anyone tells you their tattoo didnt hurt they are just trying to sound big. it does!

will get a pic up once the healing process is over...prob a week or two.

does anyone else have a tattoo?

I've never understood why anyone would willingly want someone to stick a needle in them!

Something I have always avoided at all costs!

Blood tests are fraught with fear,I need to warn the nurse that I am likely to keel over, they do understand, apparently men are worse than women in this respect,a no no to needles of any description !
